Bio
Dr. Su joined SUNY Optometry in 2026 bringing more than 17 years of experience in clinical practice, education and health care leadership, along with a deep commitment to advancing access, equity and innovation in eye and vision care.
Prior to her current role, she was Chief Operating Officer, Director of Optometry and Residency Supervisor at Fromer Eye Centers, a multi-location, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice providing care to underserved communities across New York City and Westchester. In that role, she led organizational growth across five locations, executed multiple mergers and acquisitions, implemented new technology and artificial intelligence tools to improve clinical efficiency, and built sustainable systems to support long-term operational success. She also remained active in patient care, with clinical expertise spanning ocular disease, pediatrics, low vision, co-management and specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Su is a past president of the New York State Optometric Association. She serves on the American Optometric Association’s Leadership Development Committee and is a consultant to the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education. Her leadership portfolio includes co-founding the NYSOA/SUNY Shadow-a-Doctor Program and establishing partnership programs to strengthen workforce diversity and the future pipeline of optometric educators and students.
She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has been recognized with numerous professional honors, including Newsweek’s America’s Best Eye Doctors, the American Optometric Association President’s Award and the New York State Optometric Association Young OD of the Year Award. She received her OD from Southern California College of Optometry and completed her residency at Fromer Eye Centers in Ocular Disease, which is affiliated with SUNY Optometry.
